Light Saber

Week 37

All I got to say is, that Edmunds is  b e a utiful! This area also has a nice beach and nice parks and the ward is incredible, there are a ton of Part member Families, so we visit them all the time and our mode of transportation is a bus, I finally know what it feels like to travel by bus!

I got Emergency Transferred because Elder Sorensen's old comp went home due to medical problems, and a Elder came back to the mission after going home due to a broken leg.  Since Edmonds is a bus/walk area thay couldn't exactly put him there and since I was in a car area, they put the wounded missionary in my area and me in Edmonds, thats the story and I'm stickin to it!

Mon: Dinner with Mitchells, they are a cool family and we had Hamburgers, their kids had a lightsaber dual it was funny!

Tues: District meeting, I was introduced to the District and everybody is awesome! I had dinner with the Hunters and bro. Hunter is a big guy, works in the police force, and is second counselor to the Bishop! The oldest son Joey is gatting married this Sat. not last Sat. that will be exciting!

Wed. Did service at Annie's kitchen, cutting fruits and meat, mixing stuff, just perfecting my Culinary skill ya know. Met the Relf's family, they have so much cool stuff, the ultimate party house! They have nonmembers in the family, so they really want us to come and spread the good word to the rest of the Family! Dinner at Tony's place and he is a big Jamaican man just full of Spirit. The whole time we were there he just blew my mind about so many historical things I didn't know before, he has a high IQ, but what gets me the most is this guy absolutely loves Joseph Smith! We asked him if there was anything we can do for him and we were in his room and he had us shut the door, turn off the lights, and lock the door. It was a crazy night!

Thur. Service at WestGate Chapel, helping them with their food bank, we do more service for different churches than our own over here, everybody is so appriecitive of our service, because we give it our all!!! Dinner with Jolly's, they have been in every ward so far, different people same last name, they were cool and made us Hamburgers, man a lot of grilling lately, since the sun has been out!

Fri: Zone Interviews, Saw Prez and his wife and they are just so darn genuine and sincere! Played Basketball with the West Gate Chapel guys and had a really intense game, Dad would be proud I scored a few hoops on these big guys that could literally dunk it like it's nothing! Dinner with the Krilaviches a very interesting family, we talked alot about exotic places!

Sat: Met the Abel's, a LA family, but they are really cool! Our Ward Mission Leaders son served his mission in Chandler and left the same time I left. Cory Smith is his name and he never served in our ward, but he knew a lot of missionaries in our ward, like Elder Dias-- shout out to that cool cat!

Sun: Taught gospel Principals class, did real well. Went on a Blitz with Bro. Smith and visited LA from years ago. Ate Dinner with the Lee's and they had alot of funny stories to tell. It was a good week for sure!

I sure Love all of yall

Birthday Week!

Week 36

Oh my goodness this past week has been a huge twist, here I was celebrating my Birthday last Friday night, by looking at all the stuff I got, then at 9:45pm we get a call from the AP's. My first thought was that they were going to sing me Happy Birthday, but they told me I was being Emergency Transferred out of West Seattle, so I had to pack everything as tight as possible and had all my suitcases full, a box of candy, and a trash bag of stuff. On Saturday Elder Barrick and I did some contacting before 11:45 and we were both working hard even to the end! While at the Mission Office, President Schofield gave us a pep talk and told me I was going to Edmonds with Elder Sorensen, we then packed my stuff into another car with other Elders giving us a ride. Our area is a bus and walk area. So far the ward and members are great!

Monday: Zone Sports Day soccor/kickball

Tuesday: weekly planning

Wednesday: I forgot to bring my Journal, so I really don't remember what I did

Thursday: District meeting

Friday: My B-day, got my amazing package from an amazing mother who loves me, thankfully all those food gift cards can also be used in Edmonds!!!

Sat: Went to Edmonds unpacked, helped a member move in, went to a child of record Baptism, ate dinner at a Fiji members home. Polynesian parties are the best, all about that Islander love!

Sun: Lots of member lessons and dinner with Bishop Haven, he is so charismatic.

Today: Zone sports day(yea got two) and saw a guy get taken down by a female officer, that was some Legit action right there!

Other stories: Elder Sorensen and I got bit by a members German Shepard, the members told us he never bites, yet we both went to pet him and he nipped both of us, but we are still fine.

Also: The sun is coming out and I hear that it would be wise to have some short sleeve shirts at most three, so when it gets hot ya got somthin to wear. Other than that I am good on supplies. Thanks again mom!!!

Week 35

This week we had a lot of exchanges!

Monday P-day: B-balled with Vashon, then had dinner with Hendershott's, they had a nonmember friend over! Ken was his name and he was interested in our services!

Tuesday: Since Elder Barrick is the District Leader, he is in charge of District meetings, he asked me to make an Ice breaker game so the whole district could get to know each other.  It was fun and at the end Elder Barrick had everyone bear their testimonies, it was a spiritual experience! Then we went on Exchanges with the Samoa Elders, I was with Elder Smith, big guy with a solid testimony. Drove out of mission again which is always fun especially when it is approved. Talked to Samoans and ate Samoan food, they had this dish called Oca, I asked what it was and the guy told me RAW FISH, I asked what kind of fish, the guy shrugged his arms and said "I don't know", I ate a whole bowl of it, because if you don't eat the members won't like you, just kidding, but it's still polite to eat what they give you! Played B-ball with some Samoa kids, also played Pool with a Samoan member, he was like my dad just clearing the table everytime, but the last game I got lucky, because he hit the 8ball into the wrong pocket, so yeah it was fun being in Samoa for a day, I would definitely not survive two years in a Polynesian country!

Wednesday: Exchanged back, Gave a member at the hospital a blessing, Elder Barrick blessed that she will walk again and I know she will too, cause Christ overcame everything! Contacted Alki saw a lot of real Fancy super expensive cars driving around. Ate dinner with the Roberts, they are a very unique family, the Husband especially was very intellectual and was asking us really good questions, after our lesson he gave us some really good feedback and it was as if we were there to learn from him? Knocked on big houses to no avail.

Thursday: Weekly Planned, Met our Ward Mission Leaders neighbor Vern, real nice Lutheran man who is interested in us coming back. Taught a lesson to some Cambodians, Seth and Nara, while there they gave us some food which was really nice, but they will take some work...Also ran into a lady that looked and talked like Chanda Miller it was crazy, I did not know what to say, but she was a very nice lady!

Friday: Did some solid service for the Food Bank. A random lady gave us a 20$ gift card to an Ice Cream place. Saw a Member hanging out with his friends, it was so funny to mess with him, he was getting so embarrassed. Had dinner with a LA PMF(Less Active Part member Family)
We met this nonmember who told us his wife was less active and they were moving in a week, but he invited us to come over, because his In Laws were coming to help move and would love to meet us, them being still Active. Dinner was awesome, they had a boy almost 18months who went absolutely nuts while we were there it was quite the sight! Then went to the Zone Leaders apartment in Burian and stayed with them for the Night.

Saturday: Elder Barrick and I went on splits with Elder Hymas and Fallott in their area, Burian. I was with Elder Fallott who is from Gilbert, Arizona. We did some service for an old guy, weed whacking and there was this trash can full of water, dirt, and weeds, that smelled like a dead cat! We took care of it and I'll leave it at that! We did a lot of tracting and I saw a cat straight out of walking dead, it was lying on a door step with flys all over it, I went to knock on the door and this zombie cat hissed at me.  It sounded like a dead person screaming from the dead, it was creepy so we left that house. Went to Baptismal Service for the Tongan Elders, they Baptized a family of four, woo more souls for the Lord.

Sunday: Back in West Seattle we went to church. Gave a blessing to a member that got his hand crushed by a car. Went to Primary and sang songs and played games! Had dinner with Bishop and his family and his two little girls are just hilarious, jumping around and saying nonsense. Also visited the Elders family to see how they are doing and they have a person in mind that they want us to meet with soon!

This week is special to me, because this Sunday is my Home Boy's Birthday, shout out to Aiden James Larson!

Elder Barrick

Elder Wolfe

Week 34

Dear my precious loved ones,

P-day was Elder Woolf's and I last day, excuse my bad grammar. We balled hard one last time with the Tongan and Spanish Elders. Went to Round Table Pizza, Elder Hunt won me a Teddy Bear in a claw machine game, I was taken aback, but just about every Elder I know has a teddy bear or some sort of stuffed animal, why...I really don't know, but I accepted it and named it Stephan after the first name of my first Comp. Elder Hales! Had dinner with the Hunts, they served us a second Easter Dinner!

Tuesday: Said goodbye to my favorite Jr. Comp, got to say hi to Elder Farr and Hales. My new Comp. is Elder Barrick, he is short, tan, but has the body of Wolverine, he is a strong boy, curls a 100lbs every morning, I am only doing 40lbs. He is the District Leader and our District is comprised of the Highline Samoan Elders and the Seahurst Hermanas. We are getting along just dandy! Also had dinner with the Eyre's, they cooked hamburgers those are my favorite dinners!

Wednesday: we did a lot of contacting on Alki Beach and it is starting to get really warm and sunny, I might have to start wearing Sunscreen! We put an Investigator, Elder Woolf and I found, on date.  Her name is Kiarra, but we are not sure how solid she is? Had dinner with the Prisberey's and they cooked us up a feast, Woo!

Thursday: Weekly Planned, Tracted lots and met some cool Peeps! Met Catherine walking a dog in the Park and she is solid, she has been looking for the truth and was truly prepared by the lord, we put her on date also, but she might not even live in our area, so hopefully we won't have to refer her, if you catch my drift;)

Friday: Did service for Bevilaquas, cleaning up their yard, it looks brand spanking new now! Met up with Catherine again, because she had questions about the Book of Mormon, since she has been reading it, we taught her the first lesson and everything made sense to her! We are excited about her for sure! Met up with Jasmine, she said that her schedule changed so she can start going to church now, yeah yeah!

Sat/Sun: General Conference, Nuf said! (Mic Drop)

With the Pure Love of Christ, Elder Larson
